On March 9, 2011 ‘The School Based Youth Services Program’ at Veterans Memorial Middle School sponsored the non-profit organization Steered Straight to come and speak with the 6th Grade students on the topic of Anti-Bullying. Presenters included former NFL Player Hank Poteat.

Former NFL Players Thomas Tapeh and Tim Massaquoi have joined with Steered Straight, Inc. to bring powerful motivational presentations into New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware schools. These sports standouts add a dynamic component to the prevention and intervention messages that Steered Straight delivers to our youth. These added messengers further express the importance of goals, education, positive choices, and Steering clear of gangs, drugs and alcohol and bullying. August 30, 2010 Steered Straight, Inc. announces its upcoming school tour for the 2010-2011 school year. We are expanding further into all 21 NJ counties as well as Pennsylvania, Northern Delaware, and New York City. August 18, 2010 Steered Straight, Inc. conducted its initial educational career field trip for 20 Cumberland County youths. Youth from Vineland, Bridgeton, and Millville as well as a youth leader from New Brunswick, Middlesex County, joined Steered Straight and SHINE Ministries of Millville for a tour of the New Jersey Motorsports Park. The NJMP gave a F1-Karting Go-Kart program followed by a tour of the complex, the garage, the tracks, and the pits. David Donohue, a professional race-car driver, spoke to the group about opportunities in racing and described his path into motorsports. The youth were very interested and enjoyed their trip. Two more NJMP tours are planned for this season as well as an internship for three County youths. Future career field days are planned to the NJ Regional Medical Center, Six Flags, Morey’s Pier, and the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department.
November 5, 2009 Steered Straight, Inc. announces its 2009-2010 School Year presentation schedule, and states that it will once again bring prevention and intervention presentations to all 21 counties throughout New Jersey, expanding also into Northern Delaware, Philadelphia, and New York City.
November 4, 2009 Steered Straight, Inc. Steered Straight, Inc. brings the most powerful presentation seminar to date into the 6th, 7th and 8th graders of Port Norris Middle School.
October 22, 2007 Steered Straight, Inc. announces its 2007-2008 School Year presentation schedule, and states that it will focus on middle and high schools in Southern New Jersey.
